Jensen Sp
1971 - 1973
production number: 232
After the end of production of the Jensen FF in 1971, the Jensen SP became Jensen’s new top model.
The ‘SP’ version was completely based on the Jensen Interceptor III which was on the “market” for two months at the time. However, the SP had a 390 hp strong Chrysler V8 engine with the 7.2 liter high compression block. SP stood for Six-Pack and this was the name of the 3 twin carburetor that was mounted on the engine block.
232 were built and the SP was the most powerful of any car ever made by Jensen. The SP was delivered exclusively as a saloon. Outwardly striking feature for the SP was the bonnet. This was equipped with 84 air slots. The SP’s also usually had a black vinyl roof and like all other top Jensen models, the SP had blue decals and blue wheel centers with the Jensen logo.
